Let’s start with ABS plastic. ABS is one of the strongest material so even when we do dorp or struck with anything… it never breaks down easily. It prints tougher than PLA and can take knocks better, so it is a great choice for items that are probably going to be exposed on the wear. Also, ABS has a higher melting point making it more heat resistant than PLA. This heat othering property of ABS can be perfect for integrating in appliances used in environments where the temperature is higher. While on the other hand, exposure to relatively high temperature can cause PLA to melt or change in shape hence restricting it usage.
Even so, ABS still offers the advantage of strength. Higher tensile strength - it can withstand a stretching or pulling force without breaking. ABS is less likely to shatter when flexed or strained. It is stiffer than ABS but can deform or shape shift upon being pressed with more force. This can be an issue for certain applications where you want the material to remain in its original position.
